To marry or not to marry? That is the question many Qatari men are asking when confronted with the high cost of weddings.
The average Qatari wedding costs around 200,000 Qatari riyals (about US $55,000). As a result, the country’s marriage rate has declined.
Aisha Jassim and Mariam Al-Mannai report.

I think part of the problem is due to small sample size from which Qataris can chose their marriage partner. Same problem is faced by Saudis due to this reason. And the problem in Pakistan and India is exact opposite i.e. there the girl has to pay huge dowry instead of boy.
May be both cultures can learn from each other and follow Islam which discourages such things. But I know change won’t come immediately and it will take some time.
